Meridian Health Services is currently seeking a full time Senior Accountant to be responsible for performing complex accounting functions. This includes preparing financials statements, verify financial records and transactions, analyze cash flow, review budgets and forecasts, process month end close activities, expense reporting and various other general ledger activities. The Senior Accountant will also assist the Accounting Manager and Controller on various projects as deemed necessary.

Senior Accountant Key Responsibilities:

• Work with the Controller and Accounting Manager on Month End Close activities
• Review monthly account reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies or irregularities
• Review and analyze financial data to prepare financial statements including monthly and annual accounts
• Establish and monitor the implementation and maintenance of accounting control procedures
• Oversee accurate and appropriate recording and analysis of revenues and expenses
• Assist in the company’s credit card expense reporting system (Certify).
• Assist with audits and audit preparation
• Assist in the annual filing of property tax installments and forms
• Supports other accounting functions i.e. A/P, A/R, Purchasing, etc.
• Performs other duties that may be assigned.

We are seeking Senior Accountant candidates with the following qualities:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
• At least 5 years of senior accounting experience required.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication (both oral and written) skills required
• Possess a thorough understanding of the importance of confidentiality and non-disclosure.
• Must be a self-starter and able to accomplish expected tasks under minimal supervision.
• Ability to multi-task and maintain composure under pressure.
• Possess sense of urgency to stay on task and get work done.
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills
• Highly proficient in using MS office programs (Excel)
